A couple of years ago, I signed up to every “Web 2.0″ app I could find. Some I kept going back to, some just gathered dust – either because I didn’t have the time to find out what they were all about, or I found a better alternative.
Ever since I setup skysoclear with Steph, I’ve found music provision in our workplace a constant problem. I’ve tried the radio, but with the same commercials running nearly every 7 minutes – annoying! So then I set about using iTunes to play my music. Plays my music in the order I want to play it and no adverts. However, between choosing what to listen to and in what order, there’s little chance of maintaining concentration. Also, my music budget is non-existent and my current collection, well, sucks. So that’s out.
After reading a recent tweet from Jamie, I found myself at last.fm, one of the Web 2.0 sites I signed up to many moons ago. Finding my way around the improved navigation, I set about playing the odd-track, like I would on YouTube, but it wasn’t until I found the Radio section. Paired with one nice Mac app, I now have a constant supply of new tasty tunes without the need to constantly amend my playlist. Result!
